Called to be a Nurse – Grow with Us!
Many of the women who walk through our doors for the first time are at a critical crossroad in their lives, and are looking for someone they can trust and talk to. With an unplanned pregnancy, there are often medical questions and concerns that a trained nurse is positioned to be able to answer; they are specially equipped to calm and educate in many medical situations, including pregnancy – both planned and unplanned. Nurses provide our clients the calm, anchored lifeline at a time when a young pregnant woman feels unprepared, confused, scared, weighed down. Our nurses are advocates who our patients come to trust, because our nurse team can empathize, help explain what’s going on, and equip our patients to make important health care decisions.
When a client first calls or walks through our doors, they’re met with our caring administrative and counseling staff and volunteers. We help address immediate needs and talk through their current situation. Once it’s determined that they are pregnant, they have the option for an ultrasound to see the baby growing inside of them.
In addition to performing ultrasounds, our nursing staff and volunteers address medical questions, and provide the support and referrals that our clients might need. They also team teach our Baby & Me Class. Because we are growing our outreach through a mobile ministry, we are hiring one or more nurses to ensure that our clients are able to understand the miracle of life, what to expect during and after pregnancy, and how their decision makes the difference between life and death. The need is great and we are willing to consider part-time and full-time positions.
