Winter Warmth for BsideU Clients

BsideU For Life hosted LG&E’s Project Warm workshop in January.  Project Warm teaches energy management to help participants lower their LG&E bills, learn about energy conservation, and get hands-on window weatherization experience.

More than 16 BsideU clients participated and received plastic, tape, and rope-caulk to winterize their homes.  Project warm also provided a list of resources for help with a variety of home-safety issues including lead paint, weatherization assessments, and free smoke alarms.

This class is offered in the community in addition to the offering held exclusively for BsideU for Life. The majority of our clients use LIHEAP (Low Income Energy Assistance Program) to meet electricity costs and avoid brown bills and service terminations.  Many of our clients were not aware of these energy saving options and were happy to learn these energy saving tips and supplies.

We want to help keep these moms and their children warm.  Thanks LG&E for the support!
