Trash Talking for a Good Cause

It’s amazing to see what God has done over 33 years to change hearts and save lives through the ministry of BsideU For Life. With over 10,000 babies’ lives saved, our gratitude for God’s provision and protection overflows daily.  And that gratitude extends to you and your support.   It’s because of our supporters, volunteers and prayer partners that we are able to do what we do.

One way we connect with our friends is through our fundraisers — our Banquet, the Baby Bottle Campaign, the Rick Bordas Scramble for Life golf fundraiser and the Team Life Bike Ride.   In fact, two of those events are virtually volunteer-run events – The Rick Bordas Scramble for Life, and the Team Life Bike Ride.  And we feel compelled to share that a competitive challenge has grown in recent years between our Scramble for Life and Team Life Bike Ride planning committees, and we may have actually overheard some trash talk between committee members, but that may just be a rumor.  We have the same fundraising goal for each event this year, so the competition is getting fierce to see which event can raise more funds for BsideU For Life. Bragging rights are at stake, but the truth is, it’s a competition with no losers, because all funds raised go toward saving the lives of babies and reaching their mothers for Christ.  That’s a win-win no matter which event meets or exceeds its goal.

You hold the power over which event is more successful! Will you support the Scramble for Life, the Team Life Bike Ride, or both?

The golf scramble is coming soon on Monday, May 17th. We’ll meet at the Lake Forest Country Club to enjoy some golf, hopefully great Kentucky spring weather, seeing old friends and meeting some new ones. As always, in addition to playing the golf course, there will be a putting contest and a silent auction. Returning this year will be our scavenger hunt, where golfers will be able to keep an eye out for facts about our ministry that are posted along the course for a chance to win prizes. At the time of this writing, we still need two more sponsors (a meal sponsor for $2,000 and a cart sponsor for $1,000). Our Team Life Bike Ride happens on Saturday, August 14th, and is just now gearing up (no pun intended). Riders have three routes to choose from – a 10-mile, 20-mile or 53-mile option. And lots of delicious carbs! You can sign up, support and track the event’s fundraising and sponsorship progress by checking in here: bsideu.org/teamlife.  If you are not a rider – share the event with your friends who are!

We’ll keep you posted on progress and outcomes later this year, but until then, make sure you support your favorite event. Whether it’s in a golf cart or on a bicycle, we look forward to seeing you soon!
