Team Life Bike Ride Recap
Prayers for forecasted rain to hold off were answered as more than 100 riders gathered for our 10th annual Team Life Bike Ride earlier this month. We welcomed back many event veterans, met some new participants, and enjoyed seeing strong support from our friends at Ride502. Riders enjoyed what’s become a pre-ride tradition of pancakes from Chris Cakes prior to embarking on one of our 10, 23 or 50 mile routes. They also enjoyed rejuvenating snacks offered at our rest stops along the route, and were able to share their ride experiences over lunch provided by Chick-fil-A. Be looking for the purple shirts with the orange writing that our riders who registered in time received. They will be riding around town throughout the year, showing their support for BsideU.
Congratulations to Justin Pendygraft who was the first to finish our 50 mile route this year!
Another perk for the riders were door prizes. We had approximately fifty door prizes that we gave away this year including some very pretty jewelry, a couple of bike pumps, restaurant gift certificates, athletic clothing, and much, much more. Thanks to all of our generous door prize donors! There was even a prize for the rider that raised the most money.
Event donors were able to support BsideU for Life either individually, or through contributing toward riders’ personal event fund raising pages. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve met our funding goal for the event, furthering the ministry’s mission of saving babies and their moms for Christ.
Special thanks to our event sponsors, including our Title Sponsors, Sam Swope Family Foundation and Zoeller Pump Company, our Gold Sponsors, Butch and Janie Bozarth and Ed and Jean Sitzler, our Silver Sponsors, PC Home Stores, Scheller’s Fitness & Cycling, and Eline Real Estate, and our Rest Stop Sponsors, Best Mechanical, Mom’s Music, S&M Precast, and Samtec.
Thanks also to all the riders, volunteers and our awesome event committee who made this year’s event a success! And we can’t forget to thank our gracious venue host, Crossroads Christian Church – it was a perfect place to host our ride and they were all very helpful and supportive.
We’re already planning for next year’s Team Life Bike Ride, so mark your calendar for August 13th, 2022. We are always looking for fresh new ideas so if you’d like to join our planning committee, please contact Camille at Camille.w@bsideu.org.
