Praise & Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Lunch PreparationStaff and volunteers had a very blessed Thanksgiving feast with 65 clients/kids/family members. Lunch was prepared and served by 16 volunteers from several churches, including Burnett Avenue Baptist, Highview Baptist, Reformed Baptist and Southeast Christian, plus donations from a couple more–we had more than enough food. Many clients left with “to go” boxes. Moms and kids did a craft that included “Thank You God ” ornaments that went on a Christmas tree in the lunchroom, and Doctor Kaufman provided a devotional time before lunch. He focused on the passage in Luke about the 10 healed lepers, with only the one Samaritan who returned to Christ in gratitude. After sharing thoughts on our option to respond in gratitude or not in our circumstances, Doc shared “thank you notes to God” penned by some of our Life Skills clients this week. Here’s one of our favorites:

“God,

I would like to thank you for the little blessings. I praise you with every bone in my body. Even through the trials and tribulations I know you have my back. There are days where I don’t draw near to you as I should but your unfailing love keeps me and I don’t deserve it at all. Thank you for protecting my children, guiding me through all my storms. I need you now more than ever I did before as I am going through hard times and battle my own fleshly desires. Please God have mercy on me. I love you and need you and more importantly I’m thankful for you. Love, your daughter.”

Thanksgiving Lunch 2019 PhotoDoc also shared from his heart about being with the ministry for 14 years, and coming at a time of spiritual and professional burn out. He expressed his gratitude to the clients for helping him learn and grow, and ministering to him by always seeking to grow and have a better understanding of God’s Truth during difficult times in their lives.

We have much to be thankful for, including our board members and faithful supporters full of passion for Jesus, the unborn and the families we serve here. Thank you for your prayers, support, and good work done on behalf of BsideU, for the glory of God and the growth of His kingdom here on earth.

“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;

make known among the nations what he has done.

Sing to him, sing praise to him;

tell of all his wonderful acts.

Glory in his holy name;

let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.”

Psalm 105:1-3
