Meet Our New Mobile Operations Manager!

Driving an enormous vehicle and learning the ropes of RV life were not exactly what Emily Del Rosario had in mind when she prayed that God would use her to speak life and love into the lives of people who were in a dark and vulnerable place. At just over a month into the position as BsideU For Life’s Mobile Operations Manager though, she knows this is exactly the place that God had in mind for her to be.

Emily earned her Master’s Degree in Biblical Counseling shortly after moving to Louisville from Northern Kentucky a few years ago. She worked with a ministry that serves refugees while she worked on her second Master’s Degree, which she just completed, in Social Work. She has a heart for sharing the hope that Jesus brings to people, and particularly women who feel hopeless. It was a natural fit when she learned about the mission of BsideU For Life.

What Emily loves most about her role is that she gets the opportunity to help women who often feel alone, pressured or fearful due to a crisis pregnancy, and share with them the truth that God loves them. She’s able to share the fact that their pregnancy isn’t a surprise to God, and that He has a plan for both the woman and her unborn baby. Even in the short time that she’s been on staff, Emily has noticed that the moms (and dads too!) she’s interacted with are often more open to spiritual matters than they likely otherwise would be, due to the crisis pregnancy.

The Mobile Ministry is relatively new to BsideU, with it’s inception in mid-2020. Boldly following God’s leading, even in the midst of a global pandemic and local protests and riots, our board made the decision to move forward with the purchase of a used RV that was already equipped to provide crisis pregnancy-related services. This enabled our team to extend beyond the walls of our main location at 7th Street and Muhammed Ali Blvd. and satellite location beside the abortion clinic on Market Street to areas where there is need for crisis-pregnancy services, but no resources currently exist.

Our Mobile Ministry provides the same Christ-centered, loving and supportive pregnancy testing, ultrasounds and STI services. The RV also has comfortable and welcoming space to provide confidential and hope-filled counseling services to women who may be considering abortion, or who might need help in healing from a past abortion decision. It’s an opportunity to help connect women to life-affirming and encouraging resources that they may not have previously know about, including BsideU’s Life Skills programming.

Currently our Mobile Ministry is on the road three days per week, consistently going to three select areas within Louisville. God’s blessing has preceded this work, with positive reception and favor from the communities and businesses near where we’re serving. Clients can either make an appointment in advance, or just walk or drive up. As a relatively new arm of our ministry, the team is working to raise awareness through both word of mouth and social media channels.

Knowing how to operate an RV generator, and mastering the finer details of fresh water and grey or black water tanks are all parts of the job, but these skills fade into the background when you see the impact of this ministry on lives. A few weeks ago, a couple came to the RV shortly after they discovered that they were unexpectedly pregnant. Though they had considered it, they knew abortion was wrong, and wanted to make some changes to start putting their child’s needs first. Emily was able to talk through their situation with them, and ultimately helped them connect to a local church that was close to where they lived. Please join us in praying for God to use this new capability to reach more abortion-vulnerable women and men as we work to change hearts and minds toward life and be Jesus’ hands and feet to those that we serve.
