BsideU Galentine’s Day Party
Demonstrating God’s love for our clients and their babies is at the core of what we do at BsideU For Life. At times that looks like putting a supportive arm around a client as we listen to their story and share the truth about God’s plan for their life and that of their unborn baby. Other times it looks like sharing encouragement and Godly wisdom in a life skills class. One-on-one counseling full of truth, grace and healing, and playing with kiddos in our childrens’ ministry are still other tangible ways we can show God’s love by being the hands and feet of Jesus to those we serve.
Naturally, we couldn’t let Valentine’s Day pass us by without using it as an excuse to throw a party to make our clients and their children feel loved and special. We got some beautiful flowers so everyone could make their own bouquet, made some chocolate dipped strawberries, and had supplies for each attendee to create “Words of Encouragement” valentines for others at the event.
Lance, our Client Care Coordinator, dressed up to the nines in a three piece suit, and proudly escorted each lady, as she arrived, in to the room and seated her at the table. This simple gesture meant so much to some who hadn’t been treated so honorably and specially in a long time. Around the table, we speculated – if God had conversation hearts (the little heart candies with sayings on them), what would He say to you?
Each attendee also took turns to share something kind or loving someone else had done for them. The time was special and meaningful, and we had one client who had come to BsideU for the first time that day, who shared that this party and how people made her feel here was the loving thing she had to share.
The children had their own party at the same time, but at the end we all got together to dance to the Cupid Shuffle before sending our attendees off with arms full of flowers, balloons and valentines. It was a great time to make our clients and their children feel special, known and loved by God!
